Can you tell it's summertime over here in Amsterdam? I don't mean mostly rainy Northern European summer, I mean mostly sunny and rather hot summer summer! Hence my infrequent posting as of late, but I hope that you understand that I have to get it (it being summer days and nights), whilst the getting is good. Summer is a fickle season in the Netherlands and when it comes all bets are off. Shoulders and toes are revealed, café terraces are jam packed and everyone is grateful for the long hours of light (as I type this it's around 9:30 pm and twilight, imagine midsummer, twilight falls around 11pm). Not the time to be sitting inside behind my computer monitor or hanging out behind the oven, but for now the heat wave has broken and although it's still very warm, I'm not in the throes of the fever pitch of high summer at the moment and can return to my regular life, for now.

LyB of And Then I Do the Dishes a talented blogger, excellent photographer and fellow TWD'r has also had trouble of late doing anything but enjoying the state she's in, so she'll forgive me for being so tardy for posting about the "Your Ten Favorite Food Photos" meme that she tagged me for. I feel deeply honored that she finds my pictures consistently fantastic, as she's so obviously a prof! I use E's four year old Sony Cyber Shot and rely for the most part on natural light, but I do love the subject that I'm snapping, so that must show. Thank you for the accolades, LyB!
